Jatin Gill
Lead Pastor
Jatin received his call to serve God while sitting on a park bench in his late teens. At that time, Jatin was working on his undergrad at an engineering college in India. In 2016, he graduated from Punjabi University, Patiala, India. After a time of discernment, in the year 2017, he decided to fully dedicate his life to serve God. He moved to Atlanta, Ga at the end of 2017 and started working on his master's in divinity. He graduated from Gammon Theological Seminary-ITC in 2021. After graduating, God guided his step to serve his first church, as the lead pastor at West Rome-UMC.
His interests are in the Systematic Development of Theology, Moral Philosophy, Church History, and Christian Apologetics. In his free time, he loves to catch fish, talk about God, and play musical instruments.

Les Connell
Worship Leader
Les Connell has pastored many churches in the North Georgia Conference of the UMC. He served as worship leader for evangelist Mark Rutland for several years. He also served three months as interim pastor of the United Community Church, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He served eight years as pastor of the Union Church of Monterrey, Mexico. In addition to that, he served one month as interim pastor of the International Christian Fellowship, San Pedro, Sula, and Honduras. As a former Pastor of West Rome United Methodist Church, Les is uniquely qualified to select appropriate music for congregational singing that fosters a Spirit-filled environment for worship. Les also leads our congregational singing during worship. His experience as a pastor and worship leader is a beautiful enhancement to our worship experience!
Margaret Turner
Minister of Worship
Mrs. Margaret Turner is our Minister of Music. Margaret has many years of experience directing and accompanying church choirs. She chooses beautiful and challenging music for our choir and teaches us to give God our very best as we lead the congregation in worship through our music ministry. We are truly blessed to have Margaret ministering with us!
Marcia Connel
Worship Chair
Marcia Connell is a native of Athens, Ga. She spent her earlier years at Oxford College of Emory University and Georgia State University.
She has been involved in multiple areas of church ministry for 50+ years along with her husband, Pastor Les Connell.
She has been a bible teacher and Women's Conference Speaker
while Involved in missions, including 8 years while living in Monterrey, Mexico while her husband, Les, pastored the Union Church of Monterrey. She
Developed the Monterrey Ecumenical Women's Retreat which continued annually for 20+ years.
She has actively involved in International missions in Intibuca, Honduras, The Dominican Republic, and a Christian School in the Middle East.
She is a mother of 6 daughters, 6 sons-in-law and grandmother to 15.
Services
Our worship services are traditional, with a mix of the older traditional hymns and some more contemporary music. Our Pastor is very dedicated to preaching from the foundation of Biblical texts, making them come alive for the congregation and showing how they can be applied to our daily lives. We believe in traditional interpretations of the Bible that rest on 2000+ years of church teaching and scholarship.
On most Sundays we reaffirm our faith by reciting together The Apostles’ Creed or another creed or statement that describes the core of what we believe. We offer the opportunity to pray at the altar on most Sundays, offering up our praises and prayer concerns. Prayer cards are distributed along the altar rail, allowing us the opportunity to pray for specific needs that have been shared with us. After the Pastor offers a spoken prayer, we all pray the Lord’s Prayer together.
